MySQL Support Enhanced
Many Limnor applications were created for accessing databases remotely. When the database is not very small, MS Access is not efficient for remote use. Usually client/server databases are expensive. A good free client/server database is MySQL. A new beta version of Limnor has enhanced supporting of MySQL (http://www.limnor.com/downloads/limnor.msi). The GUI tool for editing MS Access database schema now can be used for editing MySQL database schema. The tutorial is updated http://www.limnor.com/downloads/MySQL_Limnor.pdf

Performer Import Wizard Released
Limnor Performer Import Wizard is a tool to convert ActiveX controls and .Net classes into Limnor Performers. Thus you can use those software components in your Limnor applications.
The properties, methods and events of an ActiveX control or a .NET class become the properties, methods and events of the Limnor Performer generated. The Wizard lets you choose which properties, methods and events to be generated.
It should be pointed out that codeless programming as the new generation of software engineering it is fundamentally different than current software engineering based on coding. ActiveX controls and .NET classes are designed for coding. Therefore the designs of ActiveX controls and .NET classes are, in most cases, not best for codeless programming. This Wizard just does a direct converting and cannot re-design them for best codeless usages. The Wizard will produce source code of the Limnor Performer generated, and you may hand-craft on the source code to create Performers best fit to codeless programming and your needs.
Limnor Performer Import Wizard is included in release 3.3.2058.41944 and later. The manual can be downloaded from http://www.limnor.com/downloads/Limnor Performer Import Wizard User.pdf

New Performer to Use VB and C# code in Limnor
A new Performer, UserFunction, is released. It is a Performer allowing you to use VB.NET and C# code inside your Limnor applications. Using this Performer you do not need to develop Performers to extend Limnor’s programming capability. It is very simple to use it.
The public functions, properties and events you create in your code automatically become methods, properties and events of the UserFunction Performer. Therefore your applications use VB and C# code in the same codeless manner.
It is included in the new Limnor release 3.3.2004.37871. |
Opening of Limnor Community Portal
I am pleased to announce the opening of the Limnor Community Portal.
This portal has been created as a resource for Limor users worldwide. It is entirely a user community initiative and is not formally affiliated in any way with the commercial operations of LongFlow Enterprises - developers and owners of Limnor Codeless Programming Platform.
To serve its purpose, it will provide a common resource for learning resources, tips, tricks, shared experience, and all the other things that user communities are very good at compiling - through their experience. The portal will seek to reflect the nature of Limnor. It will be open, intuitive, and try to always follow the "princple of least suprise" - meaning that things will usually work the way you would expect them to.
